Kay — A Standout From the Start

Kay was born here at Messy Hair Kennels on January 16, 2021, the cherished daughter of MessyHair’s Beloved Carolyn and Zattsco Nothing Else Matter But Neo. From the moment she arrived, Kay distinguished herself in more ways than one. In a litter of eight, she was the only black and grey puppy — a unique beauty with a personality to match.

Sweet, affectionate, and endlessly social, Kay adores attention from both people and dogs alike. She is a busy, spirited girl who fills our days with joy, and we truly love her to pieces.

Kay has made an incredible mark in the show world. She has earned numerous Best of Breed wins and performed beautifully across multiple competitions. Her most remarkable achievement came in 2024, when she was awarded Best of Breed at the Canadian Schapendoes National Specialty. This historic win made her the first female Schapendoes to earn this title since the breed’s recognition by the Canadian Kennel Club in 2005. We are immensely proud of her, and we are now working toward upgrading her championship to Grand Champion status.

Beyond the show ring, Kay has also begun her obedience journey. She has taken several classes and continues to excel, driven by her eagerness to please and her love of treats and praise. We look forward to helping her earn her trick titles, just like her accomplished parents.
